Pluto’s Moons

April, 2008: Premiere of a new work for wind ensemble entitled Pluto’s Moons.  This work was composed with the help of students from the Vincent Massey Collegiate Wind Ensemble (Winnipeg).  David and the ensemble worked out many of the preliminary ideas for this piece on a Facebook site called “Pluto’s Moons.”  Pluto’s Moons is in three-movements: 1) Charon; 2) Nix; 3) Hydra, and is approximately 9 minutes in duration.  It was premiered at the Rocky Mountain Band Festival in Banff, Alberta in April 2008.
